Aristide was born in 1998. His father died in 2001 leaving his mother and 6 children. The family lives in a mud-brick house that the father built. It is located a little bit outside of town and they are a bit isolated. They do not live with the extended family because there are problems in relationships. They do not have access to electricity or running water. They draw water from a nearby well. The mother supports her children by selling peanuts and vegetables at the side of the road. In the rainy season, the family plants fields of millet, peanuts and a few vegetables in order to eat throughout the year. They generally eat twice a day and they eat to, a traditional African dish made out of millet and served with a sauce. . He needs a sponsor to insure that he will be able to continue his education.
