This precious little boy is Dieudonne. He was born out of wedlock in 2017. His mother left him in the care of his maternal grandmother.

Life in West Africa is very difficult. The climate is harsh and multiple illnesses like malaria and typhoid fever take their toll, especially on children and the elderly. It is common for individuals to suffer from malaria several times a year. Medication for malaria is available to treat the symptoms but most people do not have the money to purchase it.

Dieudonne and his grandmother live in a small mud brick house. They sleep on mats on the floor. They do not have access to electricity or running water.

Dieudonne is a happy little boy. He loves going to school. This year (2023-2024) he started first grade. His grandmother struggles to pay his school fees and purchase the school supplies he needs.
