This amazing little boy was born in 2011.His parents named him Dilabie which means “child of God”. At his birth they were heartbroken to discover that he had only one leg. His was their first child and it was a great sadness for them. Many families would have abandoned a child with such a handicap, but his parents welcomed him and do their best to meet his needs. His has been taught to walk with the use of a special cane.Dilabie has two younger siblings. His parents are farmers growing corn, peanuts, beans and cotton. They depend on a good rainy season to ensure a plentiful harvest. When the rains are poor the harvest is not good, and families worry about having enough to eat until the next harvest. Life is filled with many challenges.They do not have electricity nor running water. This year (2023-2024), Dilabie is in the 4th grade. He is very happy to be able to go to school. What a blessing it would for the entire family if Dilabie could find a sponsor! Having a sponsor would mean the burden of paying school fees and purchasing school supplies would be covered by sponsorship donations. He would be able to stay in school. Twice yearly his family would receive a 100-pound sack of rice, soap and other needed items. Just knowing someone cares about him would give him hope and encouragement.
