Meet Ghorsatie who was born in West Africa in 2009. She has such a big smile because she is hoping to find a sponsor. She is the third child in her family. She is the youngest of three children. Her mother has struggled to provide for Ghorsatie and her siblings since her father died in 2012. Ghorsatie, like most girls in West Africa, has many family responsibilities. She helps with the cooking, gathers wood, does laundry, and goes to the village well every day to haul water home for her family’s daily needs.Attending school is the bright spot in Ghorsatie’s day. This year (2022-2023) she is in 5th grade. She struggles to find time to study and her grades are a bit weak as a result. She does want to stay in school but fears her mother may not be able to pay her school fees. Having a sponsor would be such a source of encouragement and hope for the entire family.Ghorsatie and her family live in a mud brick house and do not have electricity or running water. Her family grows corn and peanuts, but they sometimes don't have enough food to feed the family if the growing season has been poor.Your sponsorship would cover the cost of tuition and school supplies.
