Abdou 1456MSWSC15
Abdou was born in 2008. He lives with his mother and five siblings in a rented home. His mother and older siblings were living with his father in a neighboring country until ten years ago when he sent them to live in Burkina Faso. Since that time he came to visit once. This is when Abdou was conceived. Now the family never hears from him and does not receive any help. Abdou’s mother cooks Benga, a traditional African dish made with rice and beans, and fish and sells this on the side of the road. She has been able to meet the basic needs of the family and pay rent with this income. She falls short when one of her children becomes sick and there is not enough to send all of her children to school. Abdou was given a place at the Sheltering Wings School. He really loves math. After school, Abdou walks 3 kilometers home, helps get water for the family at the well, and if there is time he enjoys playing soccer with his friends. Abdou needs a sponsor to assure that he can continue his education. Sponsorship will also provide help with food and medical care.
