Abdoul Chacour was born in 2008 and lives with his parents and seven siblings in Yako. Outside of his own family, Abdoul’s father also cares for six other members in his extended family. Everyone helps to cultivate during rainy season so there will be enough food for this large family throughout the year. Abdoul’s mother is very busy at home caring for younger children and cooking for the family. His father works repairing motors but his income is not consistent. With the responsibility Abdoul’s father has, it is extremely difficult to pay for medical care. Without assistance, education will be the first thing the family will need to cut. Abdoul is attending the Sheltering Wings School and he is doing very well. A sponsor is needed so Abdoul can continue his education.
