Life in Alain's home is simple, with no running water or electricity. The nearest well is a kilometer away, and Alain dutifully fetches water. Every school day, Alain embarks on a three-kilometer journey on foot, fueled by his love for learning and his aspiration to excel in his favorite subject, math. His evenings are filled with joy as he alternates between playing soccer and delving into his studies, always keeping his goal of becoming a doctor in sight. A devout Protestant, Alain's faith and strong family bonds provide him with the support and encouragement he needs to pursue his dreams against all odds.
