Hello, my name is Amdia. I was born on June 17, 2014. I am a Muslim. Both of my parents are alive, but I live with my aunt so that I can attend school in the city. Neither one of my parents has a regular job, so the work in our family’s fields and try to grow enough crops during the rainy season that we will be able to eat all throughout the year. When the rains have ended, they try to find some other jobs to make a little bit of money. We don’t have either electricity or running water in my aunt’s home. We get our water from the well which is about a kilometer away. This is hard because we need to get enough for all of our cooking, cleaning, and drinking throughout the day. There is a wall around our home to protect us and to keep our animals inside at night. This year (2020-21), I am in second grade. We have been learning so many different types of things, but my absolute favorite is reading. It is so fun knowing how to read and how to become smarter. When I am all grown up, I want to become a doctor and help all of the people. My favorite game to play after school is hopscotch. My friends will play for hours.
