Aridjata 2471FNIAN21
Aridjata was born in 2003. This year (2021-2022) she is in the 12th grade. Burkina Faso follows the French school system and there are 13 years of study for primary, middle school, and secondary school students. Although she is almost finished, she still has 2 more years of study before she can go to the university. Aridjata’s parents are elderly and they are no longer able to work in the fields to provide for family. They are dependent on family members to provide for them. The extended family members are all subsistence farmers who work hard to provide for a large family. Consequently, Aridjata’s parents cannot afford to continue sending her to school. Aridjata’s family lives in a small village without access to electricity or running water. They live in small mud-brick homes and they draw water from a well that is 2 miles away from their courtyard. Aridjata dreams of going to university and becoming a young professional who in turn can help her aging parents. But, she needs a sponsor to help her reach her dreams.
