My name is Brigitte.  I am from a small village where there is no access to electricity or running water.  My mother and father are both farmers.  My whole family works in the fields to provide enough for us to eat throughout the year.  

I worked hard in school but I only made it to the 6th grade.  I am thankful though that I managed to get that far and that I can read and write.

This year is my first year at the Girls Training Center where I will learn sewing and weaving as well as several other very useful skills.  The length of the course is two years and I look forward to returning to my village and using my newly learned skills.
