Hello, my name is Carine.  I come from a Catholic family. I live with my parents and my four brothers and sisters in a small home that doesn’t have electricity or running water, so we have to go to the well which is about a kilometer away.  Neither one of my parents has a regular job, but they do their best to make a little bit of money and we have a small family farm where we try to grow the food that we will eat throughout the year.

Somebody in my family normally takes me to school and then picks me up in the afternoon, too.  It’s not too hard because we live a little less than a kilometer away.  My favorite subject is reading. I really like learning my letters and listening when my teacher reads stories to me.  After school, I like to help around the house or play handclapping games with my neighbors.  When I’m all grown up, I want to become a businesswoman!

I have a health problem that sometimes makes it difficult for me to breath, but my family is really careful to keep track of me.
