Charles was born in 2002. He lives with his parents. He has an older brother and a younger brother. Charles walks 4 km to get to school. He is an average student. He enjoys French class. Charles’ father is a farmer. His mother is a housewife and she is ill. His mother has undergone medical interventions, but they haven’t found a suitable treatment. The family does not have enough to eat due to the unsuccessful harvest last year. The family lives in a village four kilometers outside of Yako. During the dry season his father joins three other families working together to provide for his family. They do not have electricity or running water and the nearest source of water is 600 meters away. The family eats two meals a day. Charles is at the Sheltering Wings School.
