Deborah is a little girl born in 2018 who lives in West Africa with her mother and three siblings. Life has not been easy for Deborah and her family since her father passed away several years ago.

Her mother works very hard cleaning houses to provide for her children, but her income is barely enough to meet their basic needs. Because paying school fees for all four children was simply not possible, one of Deborah’s older siblings had to leave school so that Deborah and her 14-year-old brother could continue their education.

Everyone in this family is making sacrifices so they can stay together. Despite their hardships, they are resilient and understand the importance of education and the opportunities it can provide.

For the 2026–2027 school year, Deborah is in third grade. School is the bright spot in her day, and she dreams of continuing her education. But she worries that she may have to leave school if her family cannot receive some help.
