Djouma was born in 2013 in a remote village in West Africa. In her short life she has faced much sadness. In 2021 her father was taken to the hospital with a severe stomach ache and died 24 hours later. Djouma’s mother is now struggling to care for her six children. Djouma is in the 4th grade this year (2024 - 2025). She is the only one in her family being given the opportunity to go to school and she knows how lucky she is to have this chance. Having a sponsor would be a huge blessing for Djouma and her mother. It means that her tuition would be paid for and school supplies purchased. Basic medical care would be provided. Her family would receive distributions of 100 pounds of rice and other practical items twice a year. Moreover, Djouma would know the love having a sponsor would bring.
