Elie is a bright and determined fourth grader from a Christian. After losing his mother, Elie and his four siblings found comfort and strength in their faith and the loving care of their grandmother, with whom they now live—a tradition embraced by many in his culture. Despite facing hardship, Elie’s father remains present in their lives, working to provide for the family. Elie’s days begin with an early morning walk—three kilometers each way—to attend school since he does not own a bicycle. Even though only one of his siblings can join him at school, Elie’s love for learning, especially science, shines through every day.

When school is over, Elie helps his grandmother wash the dishes, showing his kind and helpful nature, before he runs to play soccer with his friends. These moments of joy and camaraderie are precious to him. Elie dreams of becoming a soldier to protect his country, inspired by his faith and hope for a better future. Through sponsorship, Elie would have the opportunity to pursue his education and continue growing in courage, character, and knowledge, supported by Christian values and the love of his community.
