Fako
Fako was born in 2012 in a remote village in West Africa. He is the youngest of five children. His father died when his mother was pregnant with him. She has not remarried and works hard to provide for the needs of her family.
Life in the village is very simple. There is no running water or electricity. Water is brought home from a well each day. Wells can be more than 3-4 kilometers away.
Generally, houses are constructed of mud bricks often deteriorating or collapsing after the rainy season. Meals are cooked outside over an open fire. Each year malaria takes the lives of many villagers. Most people in the region are subsistence farmers. The main crop is corn but often families also grow peanuts and beans.
This year (2025-2026) Fako is in the 6th grade. He knows it is a privilege to go to school and understands that his mother struggles to pay his school fees each year. Having a sponsor would ease the burden the family carries and assure that Fako would be able to continue his education.
Sponsorship donations cover tuition, school supplies, and basic medical care. Twice a year sponsored children and their families are given 100 pounds of rice and other practical items like soap.By becoming Fako’s sponsor you would give him a reason to smile because he would know there is someone out there who really cares about him.
