Issouf was born in 2002. He lives with his parents in a courtyard with no electricity or running water. He has three brothers and two sisters. There are nine people living in the courtyard. His father goes to the Ivory Coast for work most of the time, and visits the family when he can, so the family does not always have the income that is needed to buy food and get medical care. Issouf walks to school around 1.5 kilometers every day. He attends the Sheltering Wings School. With the help of a sponsor, Issouf can continue his education, receive a hot meal each day at school and get help if he is sick.
