Hello, my name is Mouniratou.  I come from a Muslim family.  I live with my parents and my five brothers and sisters in a small home that does not have any running water.  The well is about half a kilometer away.   Neither one of my parents has a regular job, but we have a small family farm that we work on during the rainy season to try to grow the food that we will eat throughout the year.  

One of my family members normally takes me to school and then picks me up in the afternoon, too.  It’s about half a kilometer each way.  After school, I like to help around the house, study my lessons, or play marbles with my neighbors.  When I’m all grown up, I want to become a nurse!
