Pendwende Florant
Pendwende is a very special child who finds joy in everything she does. One of her greatest joys is going to school. She loves to learn, works hard, and dreams of a brighter future. This year, 2026–2027, Pendwende will enter the fourth grade.
Pendwende’s father passed away in 2024, leaving her mother to care for their three children on her own. Life has become incredibly difficult. Her older brother has had to leave school and find odd jobs to help support the family. Her mother sells vegetables to earn an income, but what she makes is barely enough to provide food for the family, let alone cover their other basic needs.
Pendwende’s mother worries about whether she will have enough money to keep both of her daughters in school. Yet she understands how important an education is and wants her girls to have opportunities for a better future.
Pendwende dreams of having a sponsor—someone who will help make it possible for her to remain in school. Through sponsorship, her tuition can be paid, and she will receive a school uniform and the supplies she needs for fourth grade.
But the blessing extends beyond Pendwende. Twice each year, her family would also receive 100 pounds of rice, providing meaningful help with one of their most basic needs.
