Saadia is a bright and determined fifth grader (2025-26) living in a large family compound with her grandmother and three siblings. Although she comes from a Muslim family and faced the heartbreaking loss of her mother as well as an ongoing case of epilepsy, Saadia continues to find joy and hope each day. Her father has remarried, and together they share the compound with many relatives. While they don’t have running water in their home, Saadia and her family are grateful the well is close, making daily tasks a little easier. Even without a bike, Saadia walks a full kilometer to school every morning, showing her commitment to education and her resilience in the face of challenges.

Saadia’s favorite subject is science, and she dreams of becoming a tailor when she grows up. For now, she spends her free time playing marbles with neighbors and friends or helping to care for her family and home.
