Soumaiya is a bright and ambitious third grader (2024-25) who lives with her parents, five siblings, and extended family members in a multigenerational home. Despite the challenges of their daily life, Soumaiya remains a dedicated student with a passion for learning. Her family works tirelessly on their small family farm during the rainy season, growing food that sustains them throughout the year. Unfortunately, neither of Soumaiya's parents has a regular job, and their home lacks running water and electricity. To fetch water from their well, they must walk a kilometer each day. Despite these hardships, Soumaiya's determination to succeed is unwavering.

Each day, Soumaiya walks a kilometer to school because she does not have a bicycle. At school, she finds joy in learning how to read and write, and her enthusiasm for education is evident in her progress. During recess and after school, Soumaiya loves playing soccer with her friends, taking advantage of the moments when she is free from homework. Her dream is to become a nurse, driven by a desire to help others and make a difference in his community. With the support of a sponsorship, Soumaiya's educational journey can be enriched, allowing her to pursue her dreams and create a better future for herself and her family.
