Hello, my name is Taibata.  I live with my parents and a couple of other family members.  We have a small home that does not have either running water or electricity, and the closest well is about a kilometer away.  We are a Muslim family.  Neither one of my parents has a job, but we have a small family farm where we all work together with my cousins and aunts and uncles during the rainy season to grow the food that we will eat throughout the year. 

One of my family members normally takes me to school and then picks me up in the afternoon, too.  The trip is about two kilometers each way. After school, I like to help around the house or play marbles or jump ropes with my friends.  When I’m all grown up, I want to become a teacher!
