Hello, my name is Yasmine.  I come from a Protestant family.  I live with my parents and my two siblings in a small home that does not have any electricity or running water.  The well is a little less than a kilometer away.   Neither one of my parents has a regular job, but we have a small family farm that we work on during the rainy season to try to grow the food that we will eat throughout the year.  

One of my family members normally takes me to school and then picks me up in the afternoon, too.  It’s about a kilometer each way.  Reading is my favorite class! After school, I help my mother around the house.  Sometimes I wash the dishes or help her make dinner.  Then I study my lessons or play marbles with my neighbors.  When I’m all grown up, I want to become a teacher!
