Being a parent in West Africa comes with many challenges. Food insecurity and lack of safe water are at the top of the list, followed by limited income, poor housing, and numerous diseases, including malaria. For parents like Alice, the daily struggle to provide for their families is very real.

Alice lost her husband two years ago after a short illness. Since then, the responsibility of providing for her three children has fallen heavily on her shoulders.

Her son dropped out of school in an effort to help support the family. This broke Alice’s heart because she knows that education can open the door to a brighter future. She prays that her two daughters will be able to remain in school, and she works diligently to make this possible.

Alice sells vegetables near her home to provide for her family. Sadly, her small income is barely enough to meet their basic needs, particularly food.

Alice is hoping to find a sponsor. Sponsorship would bless the entire family. Twice a year, Alice would receive 100 pounds of rice and soap.
