Awa

Awa was born in 1951 in West Africa. She and her husband raised six children together, building a life rooted in family and perseverance. Several years ago, her husband became ill and sadly passed away.

As her children grew into adulthood, they shared the responsibility of caring for their mother in her old age. Today, however, Awa faces deep hardship. Two of her children have moved away, two are unable to care for themselves due to extreme poverty, and the two who had been supporting her have also passed away. She is now largely alone.

Despite her frail health and advancing age, Awa does not give up. She takes the initiative to earn a small income by selling peanuts at a nearby outdoor market. Sadly, this work does not provide enough to meet even her most basic needs.

You can make a meaningful difference in Awa’s life by becoming her sponsor. Sponsorship would provide her with 100 pounds of rice and soap twice a year—simple provisions that would be an enormous blessing and a source of comfort and dignity.

Thank you for considering helping Awa.
